With turkey on everyone’s mind this week, I wanted to share my Thanksgiving day table decor from last year.
Actually my sister did the decorating, but this isn’t her blog, now is it?
Thanksgiving table decorating doesn’t require an interior design degree. In fact last year, it was easy, and Au Natural, a la Mother Nature.
As much as I drool over and adore every piece of holiday decor in stores like Pier One, I continue to make a conscious effort to use what I already own.
Think you don’t have anything?
Think again.
You’ll be amazed at what you find.
Do like my sister, and start digging under cabinets and in closets. Also, roam from room to room grabbing pine cones, old sewing drawers, deer antlers and holiday decor pieces that will convert your table from everyday to out of this world.
The best part of our easy and natural holiday table decor – it was FREE.
And I like free.
Note: the only items I purchased were some tapers and a few pillars. Secret note: I didn’t have two matching table cloths, so we used a brown sheet for the second table. No one even noticed. Least they didn’t tell me if they did?
Take a look.
I simply cannot resist the magnetic attraction of a retail shoppe – where you can touch and feel and look at pieces of loveliness.
I deviated from the market to Pier One – only to LOOK at what they had to offer.
And what I would buy if money were no object for a six- layer table setting.
I love feathers.
And I loved these ornaments.
Unsuspecting self-portrait.
Look closely.
What are your favorite tips and tricks for decorating the Thanksgiving day table?
Do tell.
Better yet, post photos on An Authentic Life’s Facebook page.
I’d love to see your table!

Thanks for sharing these – I would never have thought of using an old sewing machine drawer – and I have one! I also love the combination of antlers, silver and greenery. Beautiful! (I also love the self-portrait!!)
Happy Thanksgiving Week!
see what happens Barbara, when it’s too cold to go outside? Creativity abounds!!
Happy week to you as well, my blogger friend!!
