Barns of Bozeman, and other Wintery Scenes

A Montana winter storm makes for perfect photographic opportunities – after the fact.

And we had a whopper this week.

I also have a thing for barns. Must be all the times my mom questioned my origin, oftentimes asking,  “Were you born in a barn?”

If it’s good enough for Jesus, who am I to complain.

I love this shot! As I {heart} old barn wood. Makes me want to build something.

Something small. Like a birdhouse.

No, Sexy Hubby, I did NOT say the word “build” out loud and in front of you.

After leaving the barn, a little piece down the snowy lane, I noticed this house. With a blanket of fresh snow and mountains in the back-drop, and the holiday decor flourishing, I thought, “What a darling ‘Christmas’ house.”

I didn’t immediately notice the yard art.

Where reindeer come to relax before their world-wide journey in a few short weeks, the north-side neighborhoods of Bozeman, Montana.

Don’t you feel more relaxed now?

Amazing how looking at those peaceful wintery scenes brings the blood pressure down.

That, and the fact it’s about 15 degrees outside. And I didn’t even wear my gloves for this photo shoot!

Must mean my blood is actually thickening.

Or my brain is frozen.

Hi Katie – Those are amazing photos! They almost look fake they are so beautiful. I hate the cold but you make Montana look very inviting!

I stumbled upon your blog over the summer when I was reading TripAdvisor reviews for my trip to Vegas and I have been reading your blog ever since. I look forward to it every day. Keep up the good work!

I still like you even though you are a Raider fan :)

Well, Anne, I appreciate the note, most especially since you are from KC…and I know how people from them parts feel about people from my parts!
      {Side note, a very dear friend of mine from MT orginally hails from KC and was at the game yesterday. He and I rib each other over football all season long!!}
Btw, I too hate the cold. Not sure how I ended up in the Great White North…oh yeah, it’s all Sexy Hubby’s fault.
      Thanks for dropping a note!

  • Gorgeous shots – I love the ‘all wood’ one, too, and also the fence row. I’m a sucker for barns and fences. sigh.
I’m actually feeling envious of all that snow right now…

Well, Barbara, come on up. You can get more than your fair share of the white stuff!!
(btw, I am roasting today with tights and socks and high boots!)
