Ready or not, 2011 is here.
I am not going to disclose in great detail my resolutions and intentions, as I don’t want to sway you, my gentle readers, from focusing on your own paths for the new year.
Suffice to say, I would love 2011 to include the following concepts, ideas, challenges and dreams.
Let’s begin our journey together.
Pray that the journey be long. And plentiful. And full of exciting twists and turns, and events that teach us.
Exercises that expand our minds.
People who open our hearts.
And lessons that allow us to listen closely to what we need to hear.
#1 – Create a vision board
Remove your vision board from 2010 (if you had one?), keep any pieces that remain pertinent, then add all the new visions you’d love to see enter into your world for 2011.
Isn’t it exciting to imagine the possibilities?
#2 – Dream BIG
What do you want most from 2011?
What do you want to accomplish?
No dream is unattainable if you take the steps needed to make it happen. The first step to making a dream come true is having a plan, a goal, and taking the steps needed to reach that goal. Take an action step every day of 2011.
One day at a time.
#3 – Take the road less traveled
Allow yourself the freedom to discover the road less traveled, the most far-fetched idea, the craziest dream.
Not sure where this road will take you? All the more reason to take it!
What’s the worst thing that can happen?
If you discover it’s the wrong road, turn around, go back and try another road. Give yourself permission to try and try again.
#4 – Make your own fashion statement
I love fashion magazines. I devour them, gloat over them, and often times wish that many of the items I see would magically appear in my closet.
Honestly, who cares what’s on the cover of Vogue? If you like it, and it feels good, wear it!
Be your own fashionista! Wear things you love. Things that make you smile. Things that make you feel happy.
When you’re confident and happy on the inside, your style will be evident on the outside!
#5 – Feed the pig
Got a big, piggish dream? Got more than one?
Then be prepared to feed that pig more and more and more.
By creating new revenue streams – and saving plans – the results will be one, fat and happy (and not-so-little) piggy!
#6 – Find reasons to celebrate everyday
All too often, we save the expensive bottle of Champagne for a “special occasion.”
Everyday is a special occasion when you live authentically and share your life with people you love.
Don’t wait for tomorrow. Sometimes we are not afforded that luxury.
#7 Allow for some fun
Push yourself beyond your limits. Experience something exciting, and thrilling.
In general, don’t be afraid to do something fun.
Some items on the “fun” list for 2011 (and things I have never done before) are snow-shoeing, snowmobiling, rollerblading, and kayaking, to name a few.
#8 – Eat as though your heart depends upon it (because it does!)
For better or worse, you are what you eat.
A majority of the time I eat healthy, low-fat foods. But, let me just say this, if I want something sweet, or some hot, fresh fries from McDonald’s then I indulge, but it’s the exception not the rule.
#9 Move your body
Walk, hop, skip, jump, or dance.
It doesn’t really matter what you do, just do something.
Find a way to move your body each and every day.
#10 When all else fails, just keep swimming
For those who have followed this blog long enough, you know my manta. When life gets you down, and you feel like you may drown, the only way to survive is to just keep swimming.
It’s gotten me this far.
I trust that it will get me a little bit farther.

love it love it love it!!!
Thanks KP!!!
Love, love, LOVE this!!
Cheers to 2011 bringing you good health, laughter, peace, love and more happiness than your heart can hold!
Thanks Kate!!!
Oh–this is good girlfriend. Thanks for the great advice. I have some 2011 BHAGs and this is a great reminder not to get too bogged down with life.
Thanks Chris,
I believe it’s important not to take things too seriously. We always need to toss in some fun!
Here’s to meeting *face to face* in 2011!!

I don’t make an actual vision board, but otherwise I agree that these are all ingredients for a great year.
Oh B, you should consider making one. It’s really rather fun!
I keep mine in my closet/dressing area.
Maybe I’ll post it?
