We live one hour from the north gate of Yellowstone National Park.
Close enough to make day trips, yet we rarely do. This weekend however, since Sexy Hubby needed to be in Jackson, Wyoming for work, we thought what a great opportunity to drive through not only Yellowstone Park, but also Grand Teton National Park, in route to our desired destination.
For those who’ve read a blog or two here at An Authentic Life, you understand I am not a winter person, yet I happen to be living in a longer than usual winter-place rather than my preferred summer-place. And by June I’m climbing the walls when the weather is less than stellar – which is was today.
Imagine my delight with the less-than-stellar, low-lying fog when I realized the fabulous drama it created to the dimension of these wildlife stills. Also, I have been craving a close-up view of Yogi and her little Boo-Boos forever and ever – and even though these babies are yearlings, they made for lovely viewing today in the Park.
And later, the sun did make an appearance, for which I was most grateful.
We also made a stop at a favored spot – Colter Bay on Jackson Lake. Seeing this place brought back many happy memories of family reunions and some of the best camping trips ever taken while our children were growing up.
…how about the self-timer shot??
